MEET JENNIFER BENFIELD
Jennifer is a Health & Neuroperformance Coach for women in midlife.
Her coaching is informed by her training in neuroperformance through Dr Louisa Nicola's Neuro Athletics programme, alongside her certification in health coaching, and is grounded in the lived experience of midlife itself.

THE HIGH PERFORMANCE CHAPTER
For two decades, I ran a
successful marketing agency.
I lived fast, slept poorly, ignored stress and assumed that coping was the same as thriving. I pushed because it was what I knew.
Productivity became identity, and exhaustion became normal.
I sold my business, believing it was the only way to keep our family stable through some major life changes.
I did not step back from my career by choice. I was burnt out, overwhelmed and convinced that shrinking my own life was the only way to carry everything while raising two young children.
THE UNSEEN CHANGE
At the same time, unbeknownst to me,
my hormones were shifting in ways no one had ever educated me about.
I could feel it in my body, my energy, my sense of self, but I had no context for what was happening.
Without any awareness of perimenopause, it felt disorienting, like I was losing parts of myself without knowing why.
THE BREAKING POINT
A melanoma diagnosis changed everything.
Even after surgery, it returned and had spread to other sites – a stage IV metastatic cancer diagnosis. Life shifted into cycles of scans, treatment and uncertainty while I was raising children, supporting an ageing parent and navigating deep personal upheaval.
My body and mind were overwhelmed, and I had no roadmap for navigating so much change at once.
In the middle of grief, stress and enormous change, I realised my midlife chapter was not a personal failing.
It was the same collision many women face: shifting hormones, health challenges, caring for others, financial strain and a life that no longer fits.
I had two choices. Collapse under the weight of it all, or rebuild myself, wiser and well.
I chose to rebuild.
THE REBUILD
I rebuilt myself with everything I wish I'd known sooner.
My recovery was led by an exceptional medical team. But alongside their care, I went looking for something else: a way to rebuild my strength, energy and sense of self — the things the treatment couldn't hand back to me.
So I turned to learning. I studied what I could about how women's bodies change in midlife — brain and performance, movement, sleep, nutrition and female physiology — and trained as a health coach (IIN), with further training in neuroperformance through Dr Louisa Nicola's Neuro Athletics programme.
I used everything I learned to rebuild myself, slowly and properly. It's the same knowledge that now shapes how I coach other midlife women.
